Street Lab launches Equipment Library for NYC Public Space

Mar 1, 2023

Street Lab has launched an Equipment Library for NYC Public Space—the city’s first. With support from NYC Dept. of Small Business Services and in-kind support from NYC Dept. of Transportation, community-based organizations can now borrow street furniture, equipment, and programming kits from Street Lab for free with delivery included.

This new service aims to put resources into the hands of groups that are working to create inclusive and inspiring public spaces across the city. So far, 37 community groups have requested equipment for use at 79 pop-ups, including One Big Table at Bay Ridge BID’s annual Iftar event, BUILD and DRAW at Morris Park BID’s Earth Day event in the newly renovated Loreto Park, and a pop-up design showcase on the street with LIC Partnership as part of NYCxDesign Week.
