This weekend, the Uni returned to DRAW NYC cart for the first time at this stunning location.
Thank you to our partners at Four Freedoms Park Conservancy and the dedicated park staff. We love this recent Four Freedoms Park blog post, which tells the story of the Uni. We’re looking forward to our third 2015 visit to the park in October. Here are some photos from the weekend:

Leslie preparing the fleet: a Uni DRAW and Uni READ cart, specially curated for FDR Four Freedoms Park.

Saturday we called on two Uni veterans, Emily Jacobson and Leigh Hurwitz, to run the reading room. Experience.

Leslie, Leigh, and Emily debrief after day one in the park. Back tomorrow.

Sunday was another beautiful day.

Leslie read a book about FDR with a young New Yorker who was full of great questions. He reported that his grandmother had served in WWII. The Uni reading room is a great place to read but also to talk and meet each other.

Thanks to our Sunday staff Gloria Lau and Marco Cunqueiro. Gloria is a new volunteer, and Marco comes to us from the MIT Public Service Center.

What Ship is That? The Uni Project: the right book in the right place.

Our last drawing patron of the day, focused on the waterfront…

..and she donated this drawing to the Uni.

Closing time is an eye-catching affair with the Uni portable reading room. See you soon at FDR Four Freedoms Park.
