The Uni helped the Kensington community celebrate a new pedestrian plaza in their neighborhood at a NYC DOT One-Day Plaza event at Avenue C in Brooklyn. Our hosts were the Kensington Stewards and the Neighborhood Plaza Partnership. It was extraordinarily cold and windy, but everyone took it in stride. Even the musicians on stilts. We hope to return this summer and offer reading, drawing, and more at this new public space. Congratulations Kensington!

Leslie likes to arrive early and put the house in order.

A man on stilts admires the Uni. We’re in Brooklyn.

The new pedestrian plaza will be an asset for the community, which lacks places to gather.

Even on a freezing day, if you sit at the reading room…

…people will gather round and join you.

DOT Street Ambassadors were very excited that we brought our special collection of DOT-related urban books. A little something for everyone.

Thanks Kensington! See you soon.
