The Uni Project returned to Chinatown’s Sara D. Roosevelt Park this weekend and brought something new: an EXPLORE cart created in partnership with the Harlem-based HYPOTHEkids for their STEAM the Streets initiative. People gathered around microscopes and magnifying glasses at our portable science lab. We also offered a biological drawing activity adapted from our DRAW cart (putting the A in STEAM.) We’ll be in Chinatown every weekend in May with more dates coming this summer. Made possible with funding from Green Below 14 and Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer. Thanks also to our partner NYC Parks.

Thanks to Temieka from HYPOTHEkids for joining us.

Leslie introduces new watercolor brushes that we’re trying out on the street.

Uni Program Coordinator Joeyee Yan studies at NYU and got people using our microscopes.

Thanks everyone for joining us in Chinatown. See you next weekend!
