Today, the Uni Project began a month-long series of pop-up installations at NYC Play Streets, and we brought our program BUILD with Lego and more to a play street at Butler Houses (NYCHA), hosted by the Police Athletic League (PAL). Since 1914, PAL has helped communities take back their streets by organizing play streets that provide opportunities for children to engage in organized physical activities, learn lessons about positive life choices, and access helpful resources in their communities. Today was part of a new series of collaborations with PAL to make the play streets even better. Made possible in part with funding from the Building Healthy Communities/Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety through the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice.
