Street Lab returns to Times Square with a series of pop-ups to serve migrant families

Recently-arrived migrant families have received temporary housing near Times Square, and Street Lab has teamed up with Times Square Alliance and NYC Health + Hospitals to reach out to these families and provide an open-air place for them to gather among other New Yorkers and visitors at the crossroads of the world.

On six weekends through Sept 3, Street Lab is creating pop-ups with our DRAW, BUILD, and PLAY programs in the midst of one of the busiest commercial corridors in the city. And we’ve deployed One Big Bench to give everyone a place to sit and take in the moment—a moment that we hope inspires New Yorkers to recommit to welcoming and taking care of all who pass through this city on the road of life.
