Street Lab designs on the streets of Seoul

Oct 31, 2024

This fall, the South Korean nonprofit Domansa brought Street Lab pop-ups to the streets of Seoul as part of a long-term vision of founder Heidi Cho to transform public space in her city. Domansa is an acronym that translates to “people who make up a city,” and the organization rolled out Street Lab PLAY and IMAGINE kits on six dates in the Seongsu neighborhood, a former industrial area, with the support of the district government.

Each year, Street Lab makes kits for other cities, sharing what we’ve learned on streets of New York. Learn more here.

“We genuinely believe that pop-up cultural platforms can enhance the public life of a community. I want to continue this work and show how important it is to gain back social life in public spaces to get people connected.”
