Street Lab at Industry City

Sunset Park, Brooklyn

May – December 2023

From May through December 2023, Street Lab created a place to gather and offered a selection of our programs in the courtyards of Industry City. Over the course of 14 dates, we were joined by 800+ New Yorkers from the Sunset Park neighborhood surrounding this former industrial space. Families began returning every weekend to try our EXPLORE NYC and BUILD NYC programs, and on October 14, we hosted WNYC to record peoples’ stories, which were broadcast on the radio. In rain and colder weather, we moved indoors adjacent to the courtyard, to keep things rolling. We’re excited to try new ways to activate space and bring people together at Industry City in the future!

Our Host Partner

Located on the South Brooklyn waterfront in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Industry City consists of 16 buildings built on 35 acres of repurposed industrial space, which is now filled with creative offices and eateries.
