Street Lab creates summer jobs for youth at NYC Open Streets
At four Open Streets in Harlem and the Bronx, 15 youth from the High School for Teaching and the Professions worked with Street Lab and our community partners to offer free, STEAM-focused programming for children and people of all ages. These summer jobs were part of a new Street Lab program made possible by the Pinkerton Foundation that trains youth to help lead Open Streets with our community partners, and employs them through the city’s Summer Youth Employment Program. Students also earn college credit through a partnership with the nonprofit ExpandEd. This school year, Street Lab is offering more opportunities for youth to get involved in the city’s public spaces. The 2025 Youth Internship Program was also supported by Street Lab’s Individual Donors. Join us with a donation!
