Street Lab helps community activate 11-block Open Street in Crown Heights

Street Lab partnered with Bridge Street Development Corporation and NYC DOT to activate the Franklin Ave Open Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, this past Saturday, October 25, as part of New York City’s citywide Halloween and Harvest-themed “Trick-or-Streets” celebration. The Open Street was extended to all 11 blocks between Eastern Parkway and Atlantic for an entire day, and the assignment was to transform all of it into a community space. We deployed nearly every program kit in our warehouse and had help from others, including local businesses that have been activating the Franklin Ave Open Street with Bridge Street every other weekend since June.
