Street Lab helps District 39 youth leaders connect with residents at Kensington Plaza

Street Lab worked with a group of eight teens from the 2024-2025 Youth Leadership Council for NYC Council District 39, helping them realize a plan for engaging community members in public space. Street Lab offered a training in our warehouse, and loaned the teens our One Big Table, IMAGINE, and Street Marker programs for an event they organized at Kensington Plaza. The teens wrote their own prompts on signs and started conversations with passersby. The event was the capstone of their year-long program with the District’s office, and Street Lab will be expanding this model to other Districts in the months ahead.
