Chelsea Market

Meatpacking District, Manhattan

Street Lab has been collaborating with Chelsea Market since 2019, popping up 175+ times with programs that create a place to gather and bring together neighborhood residents and visitors from around the world. In addition to DRAW, WRITE, BUILD, READ and EXPLORE, we’ve also debuted programs at Chelsea Market, testing new ideas for public space. During the height of the pandemic, the partnership allowed Street Lab to transform heated dining areas on 10th Avenue and 16th St into safe, outdoor gathering spaces for the community, featuring Homework Hubs for NYC students, a collaboration with the Chelsea Symphony, and a series of pop-up exhibitions for 30 NYC artists supported by the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs. We’re looking forward to finding new ways to bring people together at the Market in the years ahead!
