Today, the Uni Project wrapped up a month-long residency at Marcus Garvey Park where we created a special pop-up reading room curated for Harlem. This reading room featured a collection of brand-new books awarded to the Uni Project as the recipient of a 2018 Coretta Scott King Book Awards Book Donation Grant. Our community host partner was the Marcus Garvey Park Alliance, which we joined for their weekly Reading Circle on the grass nearby. (The Alliance also shares thousands of books each year in the park via several “Little Free Libraries”). Thanks also to New York City Department of Parks and Recreation for helping to make this residency possible.
