Street Lab joins Park(ing) Day in Mott Haven

Sep 21, 2023

On September 15, Street Lab helped transform half a block of parking spots along E 138th Street in Mott Haven, Bronx, as part of “Park(ing) Day,” a participatory event where people across the world repurpose street parking into places for art, play, and community. We have been exploring creative uses of curb lanes as part of our partnership with NYC DOT  to pilot new public spaces across the city, and we were invited to 138th St by Bronx District 84 Assembly Member Amanda Septimo. We brought WRITE, our public writing room, and our new misting river prototype. Thanks to Assembly Member Septimo and everyone who joined us at the curb!
