Street Lab back on the street

This week, Street Lab launched its 2024 outdoor season on a new Open Street on Thatford Ave in Brownsville, Brooklyn, which is part of our New Public Space initiative. We were hosted by our longtime partner Brownsville Community Justice Center.

Thatford Ave is already used as gathering spot, and the Open Street expands the ways in which people can use the streetscape and creates more space for community. To help gather ideas, we brought out our newest pop-up, IMAGINE NYC. We also invited our partner WNYC to pop up alongside of us to give people a chance to share and record their stories which will be played on the radio.
